Aftercare for Eyeliner Permanent Makeup
Proper aftercare is crucial to achieving the best possible result. Generally, two sessions are required for an optimal outcome. If you have any questions or concerns during the healing process, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Important notes on healing:
- Immediately after treatment: The color appears bolder and more sharply defined.
- Days 1–4: The color appears darker than expected.
- Days 4–7: Itching may occur, and small pigmented skin flakes may shed. This is normal and often occurs in irregular patches.
- After 2 weeks: The outer layers of the skin have healed, and the true color becomes visible.
- After 4 weeks: The inner layers of the skin are also fully healed. Slight irregularities in color distribution are normal and can be adjusted during the second session (from week 6 onwards).
Normal symptoms during the first 4 days:
- Slight swelling, redness, and sensitivity
- Dry, flaky skin in the treated area
- Itching
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:
- Clean the eyelids once a day with a moistened cotton pad and/or a mild cleanser.
- For a Smokey Liner: Apply a thin layer of the healing ointment from your kit 1–3 times daily using a cotton swab or clean hands. Use a new swab each time to avoid contamination. Use the cream sparingly—multiple thin layers daily are better than one thick layer. Allow the eyelids to breathe.
- For lash line enhancement, the pigmentation does not need to be moisturized with cream.
- Apply cold compresses as needed to reduce swelling.
- Rinse the eyes with eye drops or a saline solution if it seems necessary.
- Use eye drops if your eyes feel dry.
- Protect your eyes from wind and environmental pollution with sunglasses.
WHAT YOU SHOULD AVOID:
- Do not rub or scratch the eyes to avoid uneven healing and infections. Some itching is normal.
- Do not use any eye makeup, especially mascara, for at least 7 days.
- Do not apply any ointments or additional creams to the eyeliner to avoid oil buildup and interference with healing.
- Avoid moisture from long showers, heavy sweating, saunas, or steam baths.
- No cosmetic treatments, eyelash tinting, or extensions for 7 days.
- Avoid direct sunlight, tanning treatments, whirlpools, saunas, salt water, chlorinated pools, and direct shower spray for 2 weeks.
- Do not use active cosmetics such as acids or Vitamin A and C near the eyes.
Long-term care:
- Use sunscreen (SPF 30 or 50) to prevent the pigmentation from fading quickly due to sun exposure.
- Inform your doctor about your semi-permanent tattoo if you are planning a chemical peel, an MRI scan, or other medical procedures.
- Inform the blood donation service if you wish to donate blood, as you may not be allowed to donate for 4 months after the treatment.
- Annual touch-up treatments are recommended to maintain the freshness of the pigmentation.
Infection prevention:
Proper care is crucial to avoid infections during the healing process. Please follow the instructions above exactly. The treatment is performed under sterile conditions, all materials are disposable, and the treatment room is thoroughly cleaned after each session. If an infection occurs, it is usually due to inadequate aftercare. In case of yellow discharge in the treated area, please contact your doctor immediately to initiate antibiotic treatment.
