Aftercare for eyeliner permanent make-up

The right aftercare is crucial to achieve the best possible result. Generally, two sessions are required for optimal results. If you have any questions or concerns during the healing process, don't hesitate to contact us.

Important information on healing:

  • Immediately after treatment: The color appears stronger and more sharply defined.
  • Day 1-4: The color appears darker than expected.
  • Day 4-7: Itching may occur and small pigmented flakes of skin may come off. This is normal and often occurs in irregular areas.
  • After 2 weeks: The outer layers of skin have healed and the true color becomes visible.
  • After 4 weeks: The inner skin layers are also completely healed. Slight irregularities in the color distribution are normal and can be adjusted in the second session (from week 6).

Normal symptoms in the first 4 days:

  • Slight swelling, redness and sensitivity
  • Dry, flaky skin in the treated area
  • Itching

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

  • Clean the eyelids once a day with a moistened cotton pad and/or mild cleanser.
  • For a smokey liner: Apply a thin layer of the healing ointment from your kit 1-3 times a day using a cotton bud or clean hands. Use a new swab each time to avoid contamination. Use the cream sparingly - apply several thin layers daily rather than one thick layer. Let the eyelids breathe.
  • The pigmentation does not need to be creamed in when thickening the lash line.
  • If necessary, apply cold compresses to reduce swelling.
  • Rinse the eyes with eye drops or a saline solution if necessary.
  • Use eye drops if your eyes are dry.
  • Protect your eyes from wind and pollution with sunglasses.

WHAT YOU SHOULD AVOID:

  • Do not rub or scratch the eyes to avoid uneven healing and infection. Some itching is normal.
  • Do not use eye make-up, especially mascara, for at least 7 days.
  • Do not apply ointments or additional creams to the eyeliner to avoid oil accumulation and impaired healing.
  • No moisture from long showers, heavy sweating, saunas or steam baths.
  • No cosmetic treatments, eyelash tinting or extensions for 7 days.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, tanning treatments, whirlpools, saunas, salt water, chlorinated pools and direct showers for 2 weeks.
  • Do not use active cosmetics such as acids or vitamins A and C near the eyes.

Long-term care:

  • Use sunscreen (SPF 30 or 50) to prevent the pigmentation from fading quickly due to sun exposure.
  • Inform your doctor about your semi-permanent tattoo if you are planning a chemical peel, MRI scan or other medical procedure.
  • Inform the blood donor service if you wish to donate blood, as you may not be allowed to donate blood for 4 months after treatment.
  • Annual refresher treatments are recommended to maintain the freshness of the pigmentation.

Infection prevention:

Proper care is crucial to avoid infection during the healing process. Follow the above instructions exactly. The treatment is sterile, all materials are disposable and the treatment room is thoroughly cleaned after each session. Should an infection occur, this is usually due to inadequate aftercare. In the event of yellow discharge in the treated area, please contact your doctor immediately to initiate antibiotic treatment.
