Merle Siefkes

Master artist, founder and trainer | Multiple internationally certified permanent make-up artist

I discovered my passion for make-up at an early age and dreamed of becoming a make-up artist one day. I tried out new styles and techniques every day and enjoyed exploring the countless possibilities of transforming my face through make-up. At the same time, I developed an enthusiasm for drawing, which gave me a deep understanding of shapes and symmetry. I deepened this artistic inclination in the advanced art course and through additional drawing courses, with the desire to become a tattoo artist. Today I use all this experience to provide my clients with high quality and precise permanent make-up treatments that enhance their natural beauty.

After graduating from high school, however, I decided to study automotive engineering at the Technical University of Berlin, which I completed in November 2020 with a Bachelor of Science. Even during my studies, I realized that the art and creativity that I loved so much were missing out for me in the technical development of combustion engines.

In August 2020, I took the decisive step and attended my first training course in permanent make-up. Here I learned the basics of this fascinating field. Immediately afterwards, I deepened my knowledge with internationally recognized artists and trainers.

In 2022, the Pigmentier Academy and have been giving training courses in permanent make-up ever since. With this academy, I am pursuing the goal of bringing international standards to Germany in an innovative learning concept. I offer both online courses and practice-oriented training in my studio.

My courses are designed to pass on comprehensive theoretical knowledge and techniques to others, increasing quality and professionalism in the industry. Whether you are just starting out in the world of permanent make-up or want to improve your skills, the Pigmentier Academy will provide you with the support you need to take your skills to the next level.

Since 2023, I have also been working as a paramedical tattoo artist to help people in an even deeper way. Paramedical tattoos not only offer aesthetic benefits, but also support the restoration of parts of the body that have been affected by illness, surgery or injury. Specific techniques can be used to conceal scars, reconstruct areola(s) or compensate for hair loss, making a huge contribution to emotional healing and self-confidence.

Every day, I continue my training at an international level so that I can offer you the latest permanent make-up and paramedical tattooing techniques at Pearl Tattoo Berlin. As a cosmetic and paramedical tattoo artist, my aim is to help you boost your self-confidence and self-esteem. I discovered my passion for art and design at an early age, which ultimately shaped my professional career. During my school years, drawing and creative design was my great passion. Even then, I knew that I wanted to work in a profession that combined creativity with direct customer contact. Originally, I wanted to become a beautician or hairdresser, but my path first led me to train as a media designer in print and photography.

Although I was able to live out my creative streak in this job, I missed the direct interaction with people. That's why I decided to change my professional direction. I completed several online training courses in cosmetics, podiatry and eyelash styling and put this knowledge into practice in a studio in Berlin-Buch. I worked there successfully for nine years in the fields of skin care, nail design and cosmetics. During this time, I discovered my enthusiasm for permanent make-up and recognized the enormous potential of this technique to make people not only more beautiful, but also more self-confident.

 

My mother's cancer was a particularly poignant experience, where I saw first-hand how important appearance is to well-being. After chemotherapy, she suffered from the loss of her body hair, and it became her wish to have permanent make-up. But the uncertainty of going to an unfamiliar studio held her back. This made me want to help people like my mother feel comfortable in their skin again.

My interest in permanent make-up eventually led me to Merle, where I had a smokey liner and lip pigmentation done. We hit it off straight away and the opportunity arose to train with her in freckle pigmentation as well as other techniques such as powder shading, eyebrows, eyeliner, lip pigmentation and hair drawing.

Since then, I have been continuously training to keep up to date with the latest developments in the beauty industry. My goal at Pearl Tattoo Berlin is to help you gain new self-confidence and highlight your natural beauty using the latest permanent make-up techniques.
